Booking

Does hairDose cost anything to use?

No. Searching, booking, reviewing and everything else is free for customers, and always will be. hairDose earns from salon subscriptions and advertising, not from you.

How do I pay?

You pay the venue directly — by UPI, a payment link they send, or in person at the counter. hairDose never takes your money and never sees your card or bank details.

Is my booking confirmed straight away?

It depends on the venue. Some confirm automatically; others review requests by hand, usually within the hour. Your booking shows its status, and you get a notification the moment it changes.

Can I book for someone else?

Yes. Book as normal and add their name in the booking notes, so the venue knows who is coming. Give a number the venue can actually reach on the day.

What if I am running late?

Call the venue — their number is on your booking. Most will hold your slot if they know. Turning up significantly late without telling them may mean losing the appointment, because the chair is booked after you.

Why is the final bill different from the listed price?

Listed prices are the venue's starting price for a service. Longer or thicker hair, an add-on you agreed to on the chair, or a treatment upgrade can change it. The venue should tell you before doing it — if they did not, raise it with them, then with us.

Cancelling and deposits

How do I cancel?

Open the booking and cancel from there. It is free. Each venue sets a cut-off — some allow it up to the appointment, others close it a few hours before. Past the cut-off, call the venue; most will still cancel for you.

Will I get my deposit back?

The deposit went to the venue, so the venue decides. Cancel in good time and it is usually returned or held as credit. Cancel late or miss the appointment and they may keep it. If the venue cancels on you, it should come back in full.

The venue cancelled on me. What now?

Any deposit should be returned in full, and we will suggest other venues with a similar slot. Tell us when it happens — venues that cancel repeatedly lose visibility in search and eventually their listing.

Can hairDose refund me?

No, because hairDose never received the money. We can press the venue, act on their listing, and let your review stand so other customers see what happened. The only thing we can refund is a salon's own subscription to us.

Reviews

Who can leave a review?

Anyone with an account, but reviews are checked against bookings. A review from someone with no matching appointment carries a visible warning or comes down.

Can a salon get my review deleted?

Not for being negative. Reviews come down only when they are false, abusive, or break the community guidelines. Venues can reply publicly, and they can report a review for us to look at.

Can I edit or delete my review?

Yes, from your profile. If the venue fixed the problem, editing the review is fairer than deleting it — other customers learn more from a salon that put something right.

Home visits

Are home visits safe?

Professionals offering home visits go through identity verification before they are listed. Beyond that: add emergency contacts, share your live location for the visit, and use the in-app help button if anything feels wrong. If you are in immediate danger, call 112 first.

Do I need to provide anything?

Usually a chair, a plug point and access to water. The listing says what the professional brings and what they expect you to have. Ask before the day if you are unsure.

Your account and data

Why do you need my phone number?

It is how we verify it is you, and how the venue reaches you about your appointment. It is the one detail we cannot do without.

Can I get a copy of my data, or delete my account?

Both, from your profile, without asking anyone. The export covers everything we hold about you. Deletion removes your personal records, though reviews are detached from your name rather than erased, so venue ratings are not silently rewritten.

How do I stop the marketing messages?

Turn off offers and reminders in your profile. Booking confirmations keep coming — those are part of the service, not marketing.

For salons

What does it cost to list?

A subscription, monthly or annually. There is no commission: you keep 100% of what your customers pay you, because they pay you directly and we are never in the payment path.

How do I get paid?

Directly by the customer, to your own UPI ID or payment link, which you publish on your listing. Nothing routes through hairDose, so there is no settlement delay and no payout schedule to wait on.

Can I use hairDose as my only booking system?

Yes. The dashboard covers a calendar, staff and shifts, services and prices, customer records, packages and loyalty. Walk-ins can be added by hand so your day is in one place.

How do I improve where I rank?

Answer bookings quickly, do not cancel, keep your hours and prices accurate, upload real photos of your own work, and reply to reviews. There is no way to pay for a higher position in normal search results; advertising is labelled where it appears.
